Terms of Service

Welcome to Storied. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Storied app and website. By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Storied.

Who we are

Storied is operated by StephMyLife L.L.C-FZ (“we,” “us,” “our”). You can reach us about anything in these Terms at help@storied-app.com.

What Storied does

Storied is a personal reading tracker. It lets you log books, time your reading sessions, capture notes and quotes, write reviews, set goals, and share milestones. Some features are free; some require a paid Storied Premium subscription (described below).

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Storied.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information (a real email address, in particular — we use it for password resets and important account notices).
  • Tell us at help@storied-app.com if you think someone's accessed your account without permission.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use Storied to post or share content that's illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or sexually exploitative of minors.
  • Infringe anyone's intellectual property rights — that includes posting quotes or images you don't have the right to share publicly.
  • Attempt to access accounts that aren't yours, probe for security vulnerabilities, or interfere with the service's normal operation.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated systems to extract data from Storied without our written permission.
  • Use Storied to send spam, phishing attempts, or unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the app, except where local law expressly permits.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on the severity.

Your content

Notes, quotes, reviews, ratings, photo uploads — anything you create or upload (“Your Content”) belongs to you. You decide what stays private and what goes public (e.g. reviews marked public).

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and process Your Content as needed to run Storied — sync it across your devices, render it in the app, generate share-card PNGs you choose to export, and show your public reviews to other Storied readers if you've made them public. This licence exists only to operate the service; it ends when you delete the content or your account.

You confirm that you have the right to post Your Content and that it doesn't violate anyone's rights or break any law.

Storied Premium subscription

Storied Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks additional features (unlimited concurrent reading books, custom shelves, additional themes and share-card chrome, offline mode, and the full stats period set — the precise feature list is described in the Subscription panel of the app at the time of purchase).

  • Billing. Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store on iOS. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period for the same plan and duration unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple charges your Apple ID for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
  • Pricing.Current prices are shown in the app before you confirm purchase. If we change prices, the change applies only to renewals at or after the change date; we'll notify you in advance as Apple's policies require.
  • Free trials and intro offers.If we offer a free trial or introductory price and you don't cancel before it ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid one at the regular price.
  • Cancellation.You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID's subscription settings — open the Settings app, tap your Apple ID at the top, then Subscriptions, then Storied Premium, then Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. Deleting the Storied app on its own does not cancel the subscription.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under their refund policy at support.apple.com/HT204084. We can't issue refunds directly.
  • Subscriptions don't transfer.A Storied Premium subscription is tied to the Apple ID that purchased it and can't be transferred to a different Apple ID.

Apple's role

When you use Storied via the App Store, you agree that:

  • These Terms are between you and StephMyLife L.L.C-FZ, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.
  • In the event of any failure of the app to conform to a warranty (where one applies under local law), you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • Claims relating to product liability, failure to conform to applicable legal requirements, or claims arising under consumer protection or similar law are our responsibility, not Apple's.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
  • You represent that you're not in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you're not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms by reference.

Service availability

We work to keep Storied running, but we don't guarantee that the service will be available without interruption or free of errors. We may add, change, or remove features over time. For substantial changes that affect existing features, we'll notify you in the app where reasonable.

Termination

You can stop using Storied at any time by deleting your account (email help@storied-app.com from the address tied to your account). We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity. The sections of these Terms that should logically survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) survive.

Disclaimers

Storied is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you arising out of or relating to Storied or these Terms is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for free users, is zero). We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations — in those places, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for substantive changes, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Storied after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which StephMyLife L.L.C-FZ is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes must be brought in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
